duringFlight

On long flights, prolonged sitting and dry cabin air are the two most common complaints. Compression socks, regular hydration and short walks along the aisle are the usual measures.

Mosquito protection

Mosquitoes are active during the day in urban areas and around dusk elsewhere. Repellent, long sleeves in the evening and a net for open-air accommodation are the usual precautions.

Sun & heat

UV levels are high even under cloud cover. Water-resistant high-SPF sunscreen and reapplication after swimming are the practical basics.

foodWater

Bottled or treated water is standard practice for most travellers. Rehydration sachets are useful in the heat and after stomach upsets.

First aid

A compact set covers the basics: minor wounds, blisters, disinfection and a thermometer. Add your own prescription medicines in their original packaging.
